A beautiful pot of flowers May 26, 2010

Yesterday I finally had the opportunity to do some much-coveted “crafting with Adele“. Our kiddies had a play together while we sat down to make this beautiful pot of flowers! The tutorial came from split coast stampers, but I’m not sure where exactly as Adele printed it out for me, and I can’t find an exact match in my google search (my apologies to the clever lady who deserves the credit for this card idea!)

The bunch of flowers is adhered to the card that slides out of the pot “pocket”…

How cute is that!! I think this card is going to my oldest son’s school teacher. Over the weekend their classroom building was arsoned. Although their classroom was not actually damaged a great deal in the fire, the building is aspestos and the mammoth amounts of water that cascaded through the building have meant that nothing from their classroom is salvageable. It is devestating to see the other half of the building where the fire was strongest. It totally gutted the top floor of the building. Talking to my son’s teacher I realised for her and the other 7 teachers it is more than just a classroom – it is an extension of them. The kids have decorated and organised, and the teachers have invested so much personally – books, resources, etc. On a positive note, I have never seen 10 demountable buildings be constructed so quickly. The community have rallied and supported our school, it is so lovely to witness.

So this is me saying Thank you

Crazy for Cupcakes

My photo (once again) is terrible!! I recently read Amy’s Top tips for terrific photos. Unfotunately I have been unable to find some nice filtered light in my little house. Maybe next time!

This card I have made for my big sister. She has just had her birthday and is pregnant with her 4th child. I have admired crazy for cupcakes for a while and have finally got my hands on it!! Yay!

I even had a go at decorating inside this time! I am also making her a ribbon stand, but in the last few years I have become a person who is quite late with most things (this is something I have always not liked, but now it’s me – I need to improve!), so it is still not complete!

Happy Stampin’

Baroque Beauty

In my absence from my blog for the last however long, I cannot say I have done much crafting 😦 Unfortunately my family and I have been unwell. I have learned that in a family with 4 kids, the flu goes on FOREVER!!! The last couple of weeks have felt never ending! Having grown up in a family of 7 kids, you would think I should have known this, but I didn’t realise just how much my mum and dad did for us kids when we were sick, and how long they did it for!! THANK YOU MUM AND DAD! I love you and think you are legends!

So, I made this card a while back but never posted it. It is a CASE straight from the ever talented Marelle. I aspire to be as great as her 🙂 Probably not in my dreams even, but I can wish!

I love Baroque Motifs. It is such a versatile set – Christmas, birthday (girls anyway), thank yous, anything you like really!!

Happy Days to you!

Craft class fun! May 7, 2010

Filed under: Classes — aliessa @ 4:05 am

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the ladies who came last night to the Mother’s Day Gift Class. We had a great night!

Here are some photos…

Good company, good conversation and beautiful projects!

My apologies for the atrocious photography! The lighting in our house is not really right for good photos. But you can see everyone’s creations, how good do they look? Everyone did such a good job, I really didn’t need to do a whole lot.

And this was the lucky door prize…it went to Sue!

(totally CASED from Adele)

Thanks again ladies! Keep an eye out for next month’s class details! 🙂
